Doing the presentations with my group is sometimes nerve racking especially when we do not prepare enough, but doing the presentations teaches us how to feed of each other and smoothly transition. I wouldn’t say that there is enough gap between as speakers to say one of us is the outright best. However, I would say one of our best speakers would be Shasta as he mixes in hand motions that clarify his thoughts. Along with concise hand motions he has clear voice and stutters the least out of us all. I can’t really say we have a bad speaker in the group, but if I must state our worst speaker at this point of time it would be Jash because he talks a little too fast instead of making a point. However, I believe we all have our strengths and difficulties as a group but I don’t think speaking is a difficulty as all of us excel at this area.
We generally do not practice beforehand which hinders us. Practicing before not only makes us more confidence but we can catch any mistakes that we have in our slides. Our last presentation was not that successful in communicating the correct and updated information as we weren’t consistent throughout our slides. Our science portion of the slides needed to be explained more thoroughly as we interchanged many words that did not mean the same thing. We also needed to include a competitor’s slides which was one of the biggest downfalls in our presentation. Preparing before the presentation could fix all these problems. I feel like some of the responses on GoSoapBox are repetitious because most of those comments we had heard from Ms. Chou. However sometimes receiving a surplus of viewpoints on our product have helped us brainstorm more ideas for our product. This also helps as we are pulling information from a much larger knowledge database. I do think I am giving good feedback to other teams as I usually try to highlight four bullet points that highlight any problems in their product. In addition, when I give my feedback I try to focus on the product itself instead of small mistakes in the slide, which most people have already caught. We need to make much more improvements to our presentation, but with the feedback of everybody I think we can show the judges a good presentation. I think our prototype won’t be as complete as I would like to. The science of our product I think is very thought out, but at this point we don’t know if it will work efficiently. I think we targeting the right customers so our business side is set. We have also thought about multiple revenue streams so we can have more cash flow. The presentation has some quirks but I believe we can fix them. I would rate our group a 4 out of 5 from our past presentations because we were missing some slides that would have been nice to include. Our speaking during the presentation is good mainly due to our vocal voices. I think we are at the middle of the whole group as some people are really thorough in their presentations as they know what their product will be. Our science right now is not finalized so that is where I think our most trouble comes from.
